About

I have been working as a garden designer since 2004. In that time I’ve been lucky enough to work with many inspirational clients. Each project brings new challenges and gives me a new perspective and enthusiasm for this endless subject. My client base has grown steadily through word of mouth.

I purposefully don’t have a set design style but take my inspiration from each separate project. Drawing on the clients home and lifestyle as well as the surrounding architecture and landscape. It is my main purpose to encourage a clients enthusiasm for their outside space. To create a garden that they will really want to spend time in or even give time to.

Slugs!

slugs

I found these slug eggs at the bottom of our wood pile today – they may look like a pearly bracelet (or cod liver oil capsules) now, but they will turn into big fat, destroy everything without compassion, slugs. The helpful people on Autumn Watches message board tell me they will become large leopard slugs. [...]

Roof terrace – Shoreditch

Another picture of Brix Smith-Starts roof terrace. I used powder coated planters to add a punch of colour. This is the view through a gateway. When the gate is closed it gives the impression of just a small terrace – the big space beyond comes as a real surprise, with lush planting, a pergola , [...]
